What to Expect After Laser Hair Removal

The days after laser hair removal come with instructions. This page keeps one of them in plain view for readers around Cos Cob.

If you have not read about the treatment itself, start with the laser hair removal overview.

The aftercare instruction in the source's words

The American Academy of Dermatology tells you to avoid direct sunlight from hitting your treated skin after laser hair removal. That is a directive, not a suggestion. Plan your first days after a visit around it.

Reading the preparation page too

Aftercare is easier to follow when you have also read what comes before the visit. The preparation page sets out the before side. Read both pages together.

Steps to take

• Keep direct sunlight off the treated skin.
• Ask your provider how to cover the treated area when you go outside.
• Write down any other aftercare instruction your provider gives you.
