The areas the source names

The American Academy of Dermatology says laser hair removal can treat the armpits, back, bikini area, chest, face (especially the upper lip and chin), legs, neck and shoulders. Check your own area against that list. Ask your provider about any area that is not on it.

Cost and coverage

The American Academy of Dermatology also says insurance does not cover laser hair removal. Ask your provider for the cost before you book.

Two names for one subject

You will see laser hair removal in one source and laser therapy for unwanted hair in another. A second page, titled Laser Therapy for Unwanted Hair, uses the longer name.
